Beautiful but not enough slats
For a 12 x 12 pergola, there is only 14 slats to cover the top, which means there is almost 9” between them, and not much shade coverage. I ordered a second kit which will provide better coverage. Pretty expensive
Shade slats for Mirage 8 x 8 Pergola
I had no problem using every one slats in the kit. Although the kit is made for larger pergolas, they were easy to cut using a chop saw. After some math calculations, I found that 3" spacing was better than the 3.25" that was recommended as I was able to use every one of the slats. I ended up with 4 slats at the very center that were spaced even closer, as I did not want to waste any. This looks fine, and gives it a custom look with 4 slats tighter together in the center, and has a totally even look. The pergola is done and will give great shade on our bedroom wall as the sun used to cook that wall.

Why isnt there an additional shade kit for the 8x8 pergola?

Are you able to create your own pergola? My deck is 14 x 23. I would like a pergola14wide by 16 length.
